11th Annual Burlington Township
CleanUp Day!
Saturday, April 24, 2010
From 10 AM - Noon
The
Burlington Township Environmental Commission is looking for "Block Captains"
for our 11th Annual Burlington Township Cleanup Day. Once again, we will
organize on the neighborhood level all over town and help clean up the
trash, paper, recyclables, and other debris that has accumulated in our
neighborhoods. We are also looking for civic groups, church groups, other
organizations, and businesses to volunteer to cleanup large areas (for
example, Green Acres Park, the Sylvan Lake area, along Routes 130 and 541,
etc.). This event has been a great success and gets larger and better each
year. Sign up today and join the fun while you help beautify our little
corner of the world.
As a
block captain, your duties will be:
1).
Distribute leaflets in your neighborhood asking for volunteers (we will
provide leaflets for you).
2).
"Sign up" the volunteers who respond (name and number of people in family
participating should be enough) so we know how many
T-shirts and other supplies to bring to your central
location.
3).
Distribute bags, gloves, and T-shirts to participants on day of event.
T-Shirts
for First 500 Volunteers to Sign Up!
Post-Cleanup get together at Green Acres Park
from
12:30 - 1:30 where we will have hot dogs and sodas
for all participants and drawings for prizes donated by
local merchants and gift certificates.
For more
information, or to register as a block captain, or to volunteer your group
