8/29/2019 - Sylvan Lake Closed

The Burlington County Board of Health, during normal testing, confirmed a cyanbacterial Harmful Algae Bloom (HAB) at Sylvan Lake in Burlington Township.  DEP has been notified, and is conducting testing.

The HAB is in the portion of the lake by Sylvan Park Dr, and not the bathing lake at this time.  For the safety of our residents, the DEP is recommending we close the bathing lake until further notice.

If you observe what you think might be a HAB in a pond, lake, or stream, please report it immediately.  To report a suspected Harmful Algae Bloom, contact the DEP hotline at 1-877-WARNDEP (927-6337) or submit your report through the WARN NJDEP mobile app (available via iTunes, GooglePlay, or Windows Phone)

Any questions, please contact the Burlington County Health Department (609-265-5548)
